About Portland Goldendoodles

My love for Goldendoodles began in 2005 when I first met one while attending college in Santa Barbara. I was immediately drawn to their intelligence, loyalty, affectionate nature, and soft, non-shedding coats. In 2007, I found my own Goldendoodle, Klutch, in Portland, Oregon, just as I was graduating from college in Chico. Klutch came from a large litter and spent his early weeks surrounded by other puppies, fostering his social and loving personality. As an F2 Goldendoodle, he inherited a mix of his parents' traits—his father, Crash, had a striking red straight coat, while his mother, Angel, had a beautiful white curly coat.

During Klutch’s puppyhood, we explored together—from Chico’s open fields and watering holes to the beaches of San Diego, where we moved after graduation. Del Mar Dog Beach became our daily routine, and Klutch thrived by the ocean. While I pursued a career in website development and digital marketing, my lifelong dream of raising dogs remained. It wasn’t until I relocated to Portland, Oregon, in 2010—where my father had lived since my childhood—that I found the perfect opportunity to expand my passion..

After a year of searching for Klutch’s ideal companion, I found Blitza, an F2 Goldendoodle with rare light blue-green eyes. She was the only female in her litter to inherit this trait from her chocolate Goldendoodle father. Blitza was gentle, intuitive, and easy to train—she had a natural connection with people, especially children, and could read body language effortlessly. Her deep gaze and affectionate nature made her a truly special companion.

The exceptional qualities of Klutch and Blitza inspired me to share their wonderful traits with others, leading to the creation of Portland Goldendoodles. From their second and final litter, we kept a puppy named Falkor, named after the flying dragon from The NeverEnding Story. Falkor later found his own mate, Fancy, a chocolate Goldendoodle, and together they produced three large and healthy litters between 2017 and 2019. Their puppies came in a variety of colors—chocolate, apricot, cream, and black—some inheriting their parents’ striking light blue and green eyes. To further our breeding program, we added another mate for Falkor, Halo, who possesses soft, flowing hair that remains wavy rather than tightly curled.

At Portland Goldendoodles, we are committed to breeding top-quality Goldendoodles with outstanding health, intelligence, and temperament. All of our breeding dogs undergo extensive health testing, including genetic screenings and excellent hip evaluations. We prioritize a small, family-focused breeding approach, raising only one litter at a time to ensure each puppy receives personalized care and socialization.

Our current Goldendoodle family includes six incredible dogs: Klutch, Blitza, Falkor, Fancy, Halo, and Hazel (Fancy and Falkor’s daughter). They are 100% hypoallergenic and shed-free, making them ideal for families with allergies. True to their breed’s reputation, they are affectionate, patient, gentle with children, and highly trainable. Their soft, wavy, or curly coats feel as luxurious as cashmere.
